Focused Bathroom Upgrades To Fit Your Remodeling Needs
Bathroom remodeling in Austin has never been easier. Our team offers a wide range of services including complete bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, and whole-home remodeling, tub-to-shower conversions, tile replacement, vanity upgrades, lighting improvements, and more — perfect for homeowners from Austin to Leander who want a refreshed bathroom without the high price tag or starting over. In addition, discover easy DIY tips in Toilet Seat Installation – Made Easy.
Tub-To-Shower Conversions
- Tub-to-shower conversions are one of our specialties! Standard alcove tubs are the most common conversions, and we can also expand your separate tub and shower areas into one spacious 8′ luxury walk-in shower. We can even build a shower in your closet if that’s where you want it. As a result, the results speak for themselves.
Custom Bathtub Installations
- We have installed every type of bathtub you can think of — from free-standing tubs and alcove tubs to drop-in tubs, undermount tubs, and walk-in bathtubs. On top of that, we can even repair chipped acrylic bathtubs. From a durability standpoint, acrylic bathtubs are a great option over fiberglass because of how easy they are to repair in the rare case you scratch or chip the tub.
Modern Bathroom Lighting Upgrades
- If you’re looking for bathroom lighting options, we’ve got you covered! Whether you want to add recessed lights, replace a vanity light, or modernize your bathroom with a shower-niche LED light — no matter your goals, we can handle any of your bathroom needs. We work with you to create a lighting design that transforms your space into a luxurious, spa-like retreat.
Faucet & Sink Replacement Services
- Faucets outdated? We can fix that! When it comes to upgrades, no job is too small for MHM — we tackle every job with ease. As an added convenience, we can even replace the sink while we’re at it. There are many brands and options to choose from, and a good place to start would be Delta Faucets. If you are considering alternatives, brands such as Kohler, American Standard, and Moen offer great options that won’t break the bank. For more guidance, you can learn how to select the perfect sink here in Choosing the Right Bathroom Sink.
Modern and Stylish Bathroom Vanity Cabinets
- We know that builder-grade cabinets don’t last a lifetime. Don’t worry — we can replace them with modern, functional cabinets. All our custom vanities feature furniture-grade construction with 3/4″ pre-finished maple plywood and premium soft-close hardware built for a lifetime of use. With our custom cabinets, you can pick any finish and door style that aligns with your vision. There are also hundreds of pre-made vanities available that are more budget-friendly and come in a wide range of colors and styles. Custom Shower & Tub Enclosures
- Ditch the old shower curtain for a custom glass enclosure. To begin with, there are three basic types to choose from. Framed glass enclosures are more builder-grade and budget-friendly. Stepping up from that, semi-frameless glass enclosures offer a cleaner look with minimal hardware. For a premium, modern appearance, frameless glass enclosures are the ultimate choice. These come in two glass thicknesses: 3/8″ and 1/2″. Ready to upgrade your old shower?

Project Highlights
This master bathroom checks all the boxes with a freestanding soaking tub by Wyndham and a spacious 8′ shower with plenty of room for a busy couple. In addition, they chose Delta fixtures for the shower, tub, and faucets, and we installed a 36″ pocket door for the water closet. To complement this, the wall tile is a large-format porcelain wood-look tile, and the floors are 12″x24″ porcelain. Contact MHM Remodeling today to create a bathroom that fits your needs and style!
Make Your Bathroom Pop
With contrasting colors, you will go from drab to fab in no time! For example, in one of our latest renovations, we achieved that with a simple black and white contrast.
Our 2023 Lago Vista Bathroom Transformation
In 2023, we were blessed with a whole-home renovation in Lago Vista, TX, which included this master bathroom. Additionally, our clients were great to work with and picked out some excellent finishes. In particular, they chose a rift-cut white oak vanity with a clear coat finish.
Bathroom Highlights
The white engineered stone pairs beautifully with the vanity and black hardware throughout and really pops. Building on that, the floors are 7″x42″ wood-look porcelain planks installed throughout the home. From a design standpoint, we selected a 12″x24″ porcelain wall tile for the shower, and the black Delta fixtures look fantastic. Not to mention, we added a shiplap accent wall for the vanity backsplash, and the heated towel rack was a hit. To explore further, scroll down to see what makes this bathroom stand out.
Starting The Bathroom Remodeling Process?
Bathroom remodeling in Austin and the surrounding areas require careful planning, thoughtful design and a well-executed process to achieve the right results. To begin, here’s a breakdown of the first steps in our bathroom remodeling process. From there, once we have gone over the process you can rest easy and let our many years of experience do the heavy lifting.
Discussing Project Goals
In the 1st consultation we identify whether you’re looking for a modern update, a spa-like retreat, or a more functional layout. Additionally, we will also discuss logistics, projected start date and when you would like the project competed.
Budget Setting
When establishing your budget for any remodeling project, it’s always wise to allot at least 10% for unforeseen damage that may result in a change order. Furthermore, discussing your budget is an essential part of the bidding process and helps ensure we stay within your financial parameters.
Taking Measurements
After discussing your bathroom project goals, we will schedule an in–home consultation. During the visit, we will take accurate measurements, several photos and discuss any major changes that you envision for the space. As a result, we can work up a detailed and accurate proposal.
Preliminary Design
For most bathrooms, a dedicated designer isn’t required. However, in the rare cases that one is needed, a basic concept is created to outline the layout, material options, and initial design ideas. For more details, you can scroll down to review a full, comprehensive list of design and planning considerations.

Let's Explore Finishing Touches That Bring Your Bathroom To Life
With our expert guidance, we help you choose the best materials, fixtures, and finishes to match your exact style, needs, and budget. In addition, we’ve left no stone unturned doing vendor research over many years in the bathroom remodeling business — and our vendors truly are the best. To get you started, here are the finishing touches you’ll need for today’s bath renovations.
Countertops
Granite, quartz, and engineered stone are the top choices for most people today. However, granite and quartz do require maintenance, whereas engineered stone is practically maintenance-free. Beyond countertops, these materials also look fantastic in other areas of the bathroom — such as window sills, tub decks, shower benches, niche sills, pony wall tops, and shower curbs.
Tile
Tile is the most popular choice because of its many options. For example, porcelain tile is an excellent choice when durability matters, and it comes in a wide variety of colors. However, natural stones like travertine, slate, and marble are also beautiful choices, though they require yearly maintenance. Large-format porcelain walls with zero grout lines are another great option, but they can be pricey.
Lighting & Ventilation
Lighting plays a major role in any renovation, especially when considering placement and fixture type. For example, wall-mounted or sconce lights are great choices for the vanity, while recessed lighting works well in the main area or above a tub or shower. Beyond lighting, proper ventilation is essential in every bathroom and should be selected according to your room size.
Plumbing
Delta has been our go-to choice for many years because of their great warranty and fantastic customer service. However, there are other excellent brands as well, such as Kohler, Moen, and Price Pfister — though we continue to recommend Delta. Beyond brand selection, fixtures are an important part of any bathroom remodel and should be thoughtfully chosen. To explore your options, Ferguson Home is a great place to view and purchase many of these products.
Glass
3/8″ or 1/2″ frameless glass is the top choice for most homeowners when it comes to shower enclosures. Additionally, there are several finish options — such as rain, fluted, and frosted. For crystal-clear glass, low-iron or Starfire is a great choice because it avoids the slight green tint found in standard glass. Alternatively, a more budget-friendly option would be framed or semi-frameless glass.
Mirrors
Mirrors can range from a basic flat-polished mirror (the most affordable option) to a framed mirror that matches your vanity. For an upgraded selection, lighted mirrors are a popular choice and often include anti-fog features, though they do cost more than traditional styles. For a true luxury touch — if budget isn’t a concern — you can even install a bathroom mirror with a built-in TV.
Towel bars
Plumbing manufacturers make it easy to coordinate towel bars with your fixtures, as most brands offer matching hardware lines. In addition, consider adding towel rings for the vanity area and a toilet paper holder for the water closet to complete the space. Heated towel bars are also a great choice in those colder months.
Paint color
With today’s high-quality latex paints, there’s no need for oil-based options anymore. For even more flexibility, cleanable flat paints are available — offering more color and finish choices than the traditional semi-gloss commonly used by contractors. For example, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, and Behr are among the most popular brands and work extremely well in bathrooms.
Navigating Your Bathroom Renovation: The Details
Be informed before you take the bathroom remodeling plunge. With that in mind, with our guidance, you will go from plan to perfection while knowing every step along the way. To help you even further, the details outlined below answer common questions and summarize our bathroom remodel and construction timelines.
Once the initial planning is complete, the design phase begins — and this is where your bathroom remodel truly starts to take shape. During this stage, we work closely with you to finalize every detail and ensure that each choice supports your vision, style, and functionality needs.
Layout: Optimize the bathroom’s layout for better functionality and flow.
Floors & Walls: Flooring and wall tile options include porcelain or ceramic; solid-surface materials are also available but tend to be more expensive.
Countertops: Quartz, granite, or engineered stone for a sleek, durable, long-lasting finish.
Shower and Tub Options: Walk-in showers, frameless glass, soaking tubs, or free-standing tub enclosures.
Fixtures: Faucets, sinks, lighting, shower systems, tub fillers, grab bars, and towel bars.
Before any demolition or construction begins, several important preparations must be completed to ensure the space is safe and ready for the remodel. Additionally, we organize all materials and set the schedule for success.
Protect & Disconnect: On the first day, we protect everything necessary to begin the project. We then disconnect all plumbing and electrical fixtures as needed.
Building Materials: During days one and two, we bring all building materials on-site.
Timeline: A project schedule is created to keep the remodel running efficiently. We also keep you informed daily regarding job progress and scheduling.
The construction phase starts with removing old materials and fixtures to prepare the space for new installations.
Demo Day: Demolition usually takes one day to remove vanities, bathtubs, toilets, tile, and countertops. This process can be noisy.
Construction Debris: Once demolition is complete, all construction debris is hauled off on day one.
Framing: Any framing needed for the remodel is completed at this stage.
Plumbing & Electrical: After framing is finished, we move plumbing as needed, run any required wiring, and rough-in all fixtures (Rough-In Phase).
Drywall: This is the “buttoning up” stage. Drywall installation can be time-consuming depending on the scope, but most bathrooms take two to three days.
Painting: Once drywall is complete, walls and ceilings are painted. Final painting is completed after tile installation.
Cabinets: Cabinets are now ready for installation. This is usually a one-day task. All custom cabinets are finished on-site shortly after installation.
Countertops: After cabinets are installed, our fabricator completes all templating. Cutting, fabrication, and installation typically take about one week.
Tile: After countertops and other stonework are in place, it’s tile time. Depending on the bathroom size, this stage may take up to one week. Baseboards are installed once flooring is complete.
The final stage focuses on completing the details that bring your new bathroom to life.
Set Out: With tile finished, we begin installing all fixtures — toilets, faucets, shower trim, lighting, towel bars, and accessories.
Touch-Up Painting: We address any paint touch-ups and paint doors and trim.
Clean Up: Once everything is complete, we clean the space thoroughly, remove floor protection, take up plastic covers, wipe down all surfaces, pack out tools, and sweep or vacuum our way out.
Before the project is officially complete, your newly remodeled bathroom undergoes a final inspection.
Quality Check: At MHM Remodeling, we ensure all fixtures, finishes, and systems meet our highest standards.
Client Walkthrough: We will walk you through the finished bathroom to review the work and confirm that you are completely satisfied.
