Roadway defects on W Harrison Street near California Avenue are reported factors

CHICAGO, IL — One person was injured early Thursday due to a wreck involving a parked vehicle near Altgeld Park in west Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The accident was reported in the 2800 block of West Harrison Street, near California Avenue and just a couple of blocks west from the park, at around 12:55 a.m.

A sequence of events leading up to the wreck was not immediately released, but officials listed “road engineering” and “marking defects” on the roadway’s surface as the primary contributing causes.

At least one moving vehicle collided with a parked car at the intersection, causing one person to suffer non-incapacitating injuries.

Over $1,500 in damages was also reported.
