WILL CO., IL – A two-vehicle collision involving a school bus in central Will County killed one person and injured at least ten others Wednesday, reports Fox 32 Chicago.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of West Manhattan-Monee Road and Kankakee Road, which is just east of Manhattan and about 48 miles southwest of Chicago.

The cause of the accident, which involved a passenger vehicle and a school bus, has not yet been determined.

One person from the passenger vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name to the public.

While no serious injuries have been reported among the bus occupants, medics did transport all ten students to the hospital for evaluation.

A full investigation is underway.
