BOLINGBROOK, IL – A high school student sustained injuries Wednesday afternoon in an auto-pedestrian crash in northwest Will County.

According to Fox 32 Chicago, the accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. near the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Raider Way in Bolingbrook. This is approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago.

Police say that students were dispersing when a westbound GMC Acadia struck a 15-year-old high school student.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s not yet clear what caused the accident or if the victim was utilizing a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

No charges have been filed thus far against the 17-year-old driver.

The investigation is ongoing.
