CHICAGO, IL – One person suffered serious injuries Wednesday evening as a result of a two-vehicle wreck in northwest Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The crash happened at 5661 West Irving Park Road, near the intersection with North Major Avenue and about two blocks west of the park. It was first reported at about 6:15 p.m.

Preliminary information indicates the “physical condition” of one driver caused them to crash their vehicle into the back of another, but no other details about those circumstances were immediately provided.

One person sustained injuries classified as “incapacitating,” and about $501 to $1,500 in property damage was recorded.
