Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision on North Lockwood Avenue

CHICAGO, IL – A hit-and-run driver was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck early Friday, September 27, in northwest Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The incident was reported at 2418 North Lockwood Avenue, in the city’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood. First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m.

According to the department’s crash report, at least one of the involved vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction in a one-way roadway. At one point, the vehicle collided with at least two other vehicles, including a parked vehicle.

While no major injuries were immediately confirmed, officials reported that the property damage totaled to over $1,500.

The incident was listed as a hit-and-run, indicating that one of the involved parties failed to remain at the scene by the time authorities arrived.
