CHICAGO, IL – One person was injured early Monday evening as a result of a two-vehicle crash on East Emerald Avenue in Chicago’s South Side, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Officials said the wreck occurred in the 7900 block of the road, near the intersection with West 79th Street, at about 5:00 p.m.

An early investigation shows at least one driver failed to yield to the right-of-way of another driver while making a turn at the four-way intersection, causing a collision.

The crash report indicates that at least six people were involved, but only one person was reported hurt, with injuries deemed “non-incapacitating.”

The incident also resulted in property damaged estimated to exceed $1,500.
