Two police officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident

CHICAGO, IL – There people, including two police officers, sustained injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Fuller Park.

According to Fox 32 Chicago, the accident occurred just before 11 p.m. on South La Salle Street near West Root Street, just east of I-90E and northwest of Metcalfe (Ralph) Park.

Police say that a westbound silver sedan collided with a northbound police cruiser when the 33-year-old driver of the sedan failed to heed a red light.

Medics transported the driver of the sedan and the two police officers to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials cited the driver of the sedan.

A full investigation is underway.
