Two left southbound lanes were closed at 167th Street

COOK COUNTY, IL – A vehicle overturned during a crash late Tuesday morning on Interstate 57 near Oak Forest, according to TTWN Chicago.

The accident unfolded on the outbound lanes at Exit 346 to 167th Street and was first reported some time before 11:10 a.m.

Two left lanes were blocked in the area, and at the time of the initial TTTW Chicago report, a traffic backup had formed, stretching down to 159th Street.

Officials have not specified what led up to the crash or how many vehicles were involved, but the closure remained in place for at least 40 minutes, suggesting a more involved emergency response.

By 11:50 a.m., delays had reached back to Tri-State Tollway.
