One person ran a red light at MO-4 & Plass Road, leading to crash, MSHP says

FESTUS, MO – One person sustained minor injuries and another serious injuries in a two-car collision at MO-4 and Plass Road on Wednesday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident at 4:38 p.m., saying that a 69-year-old woman driving a 2012 Acura TL was driving east on MO-4 when she ran a red light and crashed into the front right of a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu.

The Chevrolet driver, a 41-year-old woman, was left with minor injuries, while the 69-year-old woman was seriously injured.

Joachim Plattin Ambulance District transported the 69-year-old woman to Mercy Hospital Jefferson, while the 41-year-old woman opted to go to that same hospital by means of private conveyance.

MSHP confirmed both drivers are Festus locals and wore their seatbelts.

Officials did not say if they cited the 69-year-old woman.
