Crash happened during a roadwork zone on MO 47 East, MSHP says

TROY, MO – Two people had to go to the hospital following a chain-reaction collision on Missouri 47 East west of Mennemayer Road last Friday, March 6.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident at 2 p.m., saying it happened in a roadwork zone. Preliminary details show that a 31-year-old man driving a 2009 Cadillac CTS rear-ended a 2002 Ford F-150 that stopped for the roadwork. The 2002 Ford F-150 was pushed forward, which resulted in a chain-reaction with two other stopped vehicles — a 2022 Kia Forte and a 2005 Ford 500.

The impact of the collision left the 31-year-old male driver with moderate injuries and the passenger of the Ford F-150, a 42-year-old woman, with minor injuries.

Lincoln County EMS took the 31-year-old man, a Troy local, to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake St. Louis. Medical personnel also transported the 42-year-old woman from Moscow Hills to the same hospital.

The Ford F-150 driver, a 66-year-old man from Moscow Hills, and the Kia driver, a 58-year-old man, and the Ford 500 driver, a 67-year-old man, from Hawk Point were all uninjured.

The Troy Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the scene.

No citations were reported.
