Three vehicles were involved in I-70 East crash, MSHP says

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two people were injured in a rollover collision involving a semi-truck in St. Louis on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened amid traffic congestion on Interstate 70 East along MO 141 before 4:30 p.m. During the afternoon rush hour, a 23-year-old woman, driving a 2017 Volvo S90, was changing lanes from the fourth to the third lane when she collided with a 2022 Hyundai Tucson on its passenger side.

The Hyundai was pushed from the third lane to the first and overturned before sliding underneath a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck.

The Hyundai driver, a 36-year-old woman, and the Hyundai passenger, a 19-year-old man, both from Berkeley, sustained minor injuries.

Pattonville EMS crews transported the Hyundai occupants to DePaul Hospital.

The 23-year-old female Volo driver, from St. Louis, and the semi-truck driver, a 47-year-old man from Sterling Heights, Michigan, were uninjured.

MSHP confirmed the Hyundai occupants wore seatbelts, but has not confirmed whether they cited the Volvo driver.
