Failure to negotiate curve leads to crash at MO Y & Flat Rock Road

DITTMER, MO – One man was airlifted and another transported by ground to St. Louis hospitals following a two-car collision at Missouri Y and Flat Rock Road last Friday, May 9.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 44-year-old man from Deslodge was driving a 2018 Ford Edge SUV and failed to negotiate a curve, which caused him to cross the centerline and crash into a 2025 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 74-year-old man from Hillsboro.

MSHP, Arch Air Medical Services, and Big River Ambulance arrived at the scene at 1 p.m.

Medical helicopter personnel took the 44-year-old man to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, and Big River EMS took the 74-year-old man to Mercy Hospital South.

The 74-year-old man is recovering from moderate injuries, and the 44-year-old man is recovering from serious injuries.
