Injuries reported after car overturns, crashes into tree off I-70

ST. PETERS, MO – Two men were transported to a local hospital following a three-car crash in St. Peters on Saturday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash at 9:10 a.m., saying it happened on eastbound Interstate 70, east of Highway 79.

The incident unfolded when a 37-year-old man, driving a 2015 Ford Mustang, lost control of his car on a slick road, causing it to rotate counterclockwise and collide with a 2025 Nissan Sentra. The Ford slid and crashed into a 2026 Kia Carnival.

The Nissan struck the front right side of the Ford and then veered off the road, overturned, and crashed into a tree.

The Nissan driver, a 53-year-old man, and the Nissan passenger, a 26-year-old man from Troy, suffered moderate injuries. St. Charles County ambulance crews transported them to Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, for treatment.

The Kia driver, a 33-year-old man from St. Louis, and the Ford driver, from Troy, were uninjured.

All occupants wore seatbelts.

O’Fallon Police assisted MSHP with the investigation and on-scene clean-up process.
