It happened early afternoon, at the exit to South Broadway

ST. LOUIS, MO – Authorities were dispatched to a wreck early Friday afternoon on Interstate 55 in southwest St. Louis, according to MoDOT STL Traffic.

The accident impacted the northbound lanes approaching Exit 204 to South Broadway, in the city’s Mount Pleasant area. It was first reported shortly before 11:25 a.m.

Very few details have been released, but at the time of the initial MoDOT alert, the left lane and left shoulder were blocked by the scene. Only three travel lanes remained open.

Officials indicated that the closure would remain in place for about two hours, with all lanes reopened to traffic by 1:25 p.m.
