Crash Occurred at Dellridge Lane and Chambers Road

ST. LOUIS, MO – A driver crashed into a home in north St. Louis County early Tuesday, tearing through the wall of a bedroom where the homeowner had been sleeping, authorities said.

According to a KMOV report, police responded about 1:30 a.m. to a report of a car that struck a house at the corner of Dellridge Lane and Chambers Road.

The homeowner said she had been asleep in the bedroom when the vehicle slammed into the house. She said the impact threw her across the room as debris fell around her. She and her children got out safely and discovered a man was still inside the car.

Police arrested the driver at the scene and recovered a gun from the vehicle. Officials have not said what caused the driver to lose control.

No injuries were reported.

According to the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, Chambers Road is among the most dangerous in the St. Louis region.
