Pickup truck driver sideswiped a Jeep after crashing into tree, officials say

ALTON, IL – A pickup truck driver’s life was claimed in a fiery collision that happened in Alton on Monday, First Alert 4 said.

The incident unfolded after 11:30 p.m., when the driver of a red pickup truck sideswiped a Jeep before crashing into a tree off State Street and Parker Street. The pickup truck caught on fire, warranting a response from fire crews.

Officials confirmed that the pickup truck driver unfortunately died from their injuries a short time later.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
