Minor injuries sustained in six-vehicle crash in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two people were sent to the hospital following a chain-reaction collision that occurred on I-55 north of Butler Hill Road on Thursday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 7 a.m. on the northbound lanes and involved six vehicles: a 2026 Kenworth 310, a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500, a 2019 Chevrolet Express, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2019 Ford Fiesta, and a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse.

Preliminary details show that the driver of the 2026 Kenworth 310 truck, a 54-year-old man from Chicago, appeared not to have reduced his speed during slowed traffic and struck one of the involved vehicles, which resulted in a chain reaction collision.

The Kenworth driver and the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, a 43-year-old man from Perryville, sustained minor injuries.

Melville Fire and ambulance crews transported the two injured men to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

All other drivers were unharmed.

Troopers confirmed all motorists were the sole occupants of their vehicles and have not announced any charges at this time.
