ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO – A 24-year-old man from Cedar Hill suffered injuries late Tuesday night following a collision on Interstate 44 near Fenton, reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the Exit 272 ramp connected westbound I-44 to State Route 141. It was first reported at about 11:41 p.m.

According to MSHP officials, a 52-year-old Dittmer man was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Spark westbound at a rate of speed deemed too fast for the road conditions. At one point, the Spark spun out and came to rest facing east on the ramp. The 24-year-old man, who was driving a 2020 Honda CRV westbound, was unable to avoid the Spark in time, and the front-ends of both vehicles collided.

The driver of the CRV was taken by private conveyance to St. Lukes Hospital for injuries considered minor.

The Spark and the CRV both sustained minor damage, but the CRV was towed from the scene.
