Crash occurred after car driver switched lanes

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 28-year-old man from Highland, Illinois, had to go to the hospital following a motorcycle-car crash on the Blanchette Memorial Bridge on Friday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said the incident unfolded at 7 a.m. when a 20-year-old woman, driving a 2017 Infiniti QX50, switched from the fourth lane to the third. The 28-year-old, operating a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle, steered to the left to try to avoid a crash, but ended up rear-ending the Infiniti car.

The 28-year-old man was ejected from his bike and sustained moderate injuries. Pattonville fire and EMS crews transported him to Mercy Hospital – St. Louis for treatment.

The female car driver was uninjured and moved over onto the next exit after the crash. MSHP did not say if they cited her or whether she could face charges for her involvement in the collision.
