ST. LOUIS, MO – A 58-year-old man was sent to the hospital after a crash involving a trash truck reported before 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said the collision took place at the intersection of southbound Interstate 55 and Butler Hill Road.

The incident unfolded when the 58-year-old man’s 2023 Acura Integra car skidded and rotated clockwise, before getting rear-ended by a 2025 Western Star 47X Chassis Dump. The car went off the road again before crashing into a concrete median barrier.

The 58-year-old man, a St. Louis local, sustained minor injuries. Mehlville Fire Protection District transported him to Mercy Hospital South.

The truck driver, a 62-year-old man from Bowling Green, was uninjured.
