Man, 25, hospitalized after 2-car collision in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – A man driving a 2011 Nissan Altima was met with mechanical issues, causing him to lose control of his car and hit another vehicle, injuring the other motorist Tuesday.

The collision happened at 5:15 a.m. on Blanchette Bridge, Missouri Highway Patrol said. Troopers said the Nissan driver was going east when he veered off his lane and struck a westbound 2016 Toyota Avalon. The Toyota driver, a 25-year-old St. Louis, was transported to St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Nissan driver, a 20-year-old O’Fallon man, was unharmed.

A 1 and 1A tow truck crews removed the significantly damaged Toyota and Nissan, with minor damage, from the scene.

Troopers have not reported any lane closures or cited the Nissan driver.
