2 hospitalized following collision on I-270 East along I-70

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 1-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were injured in a rear-end crash near the St. Louis International Airport on Tuesday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash at 9:55 p.m., saying it took place on Interstate 270 East along Interstate 70. MSHP determined that a 22-year-old man, a St. Louis local, was driving in the first lane, switched to the second lane, and crashed into the back of a 2011 Honda Accord.

The young man’s 2022 Honda Accord car and the 2011 Honda Accord were totaled and towed away by Bolins.

The young man, a passenger of the 2011 Honda Accord, and a 1-year-old girl from Florissant were injured. Pattonville EMS transported them both to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

The man is recovering from moderate injuries, and the toddler from minor injuries, while the driver of the 2011 Honda Accord was uninjured.

MSHP confirmed the male driver did not wear a seatbelt, while the woman and young child did.

MSHP has not said whether they cited the male driver.
