Three vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved

ST. LOUIS, MO – A young woman was sent to a hospital Friday morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 270 in north St. Louis, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the scene on the westbound lanes past Lilac Avenue, shortly after 6:50 a.m.

Officials said a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2022 International LT625 semi-truck were traveling westbound in lanes 1 and 2, respectively. A 22-year-old local woman was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla when she failed to maintain a single lane, causing the car to veer off the left side of the roadway. Moments later, the Toyota proceeded south down a nearby grassy embankment and into the westbound lanes of I-270. It then traveled across lane 2 and entered lane 1 before hitting the right-rear side of the Chevrolet Silverado.

As the Silverado came to rest in lane 1 facing east, the Toyota Corolla skidded into lane 2, and the right side of the vehicle collided with the left side of the International LT625.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, who suffered minor injuries, was transported to Christian Hospital Northeast-Northwest by MSHP troopers.

No further injuries or information have been reported.
