Fatal accident happened at Compton Ave overpass near Chouteau Ave

ST. LOUIS, MO – A man died yesterday after he fell from construction equipment onto a roadway and was hit by a vehicle, KSDK reports.

The fatal accident happened at the Compton Avenue overpass near Chouteau Avenue at about 1 p.m. on May 21.

Police believe the man fell as he was operating construction equipment. It’s unclear whether he was hit by a passing vehicle or the equipment he was operating.

A bystander reports seeing around 10 emergency vehicles in the area following the incident.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

Police and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration are investigating.
