A 45-year-old man was behind the wheel at the time of the fatal crash.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – A 19-year-old woman lost her life due to a single-vehicle rollover crash Saturday, December 28, in Robertsville, according to FOX 2 Now.

The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Route O near Woods Road, at about 1:00 p.m.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 45-year-old man was driving eastbound on Route O when the vehicle’s right tire slightly veered off the roadway. As the driver turned back left onto Route O, the vehicle crossed the centerline.

Preliminary details show that as the vehicle overcorrected, it left the right side of the roadway and collided with a utility pole and a tree before rolling onto its side.

The young woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver was not reported hurt.

An investigation remains underway.
